Founded in 1991 by Peter Thomas of the BBC and Adrian Loader of FWO
Bauch. The combination of knowledge and a life-long passion for music
led to the production of PMC’s first product, the BB5-A, an active main
studio monitor. This design was snapped up by the BBC Maida Vale and
Metropolis Mastering and remains the world’s reference, used by Prince,
Stevie Wonder’s Wonderland Studio, Hospital HDTV Broadcast London and
for renowned classical labels such as Decca and Harmonia Mundi. Many of
today’s movie themes have been crafted using PMC, from such eminent
composers as Henry Jackman, Thomas Newman, Tyler Bates and John Debney.
PMC are one of the very few companies who have been awarded an Emmy®
for their contribution to recording excellence. With film, it would be
easier to list the blockbuster movies which did not use PMC during the
process of music production and post! But titles include: Titanic,
Mission Impossible, Captain Phillips, Pearl Harbor, Game of Thrones –
TV, Iron Man 1& 2, Skyfall, Spiderman 1,2,3 and Pirates of the

The cor integrated is an amplifier that adds no sonic character of its own to the music. It follows exactly the same design ethos for high resolution playback as used in the creation of all PMC’s loudspeakers, namely musicality, transparency and neutrality, where nothing is added and nothing is taken away. The role of the amplifier, like the company’s speakers, is to reproduce the music exactly as it is meant to be heard.
Designed and hand-built by PMC in the UK, the cor - the dictionary definition of which is: (anatomy) heart; (figuratively) soul, mind - is an integrated amplifier that works entirely in the analogue domain.
Every element of the cor has been developed with purity of sound at the top of the criteria list. The four unbalanced RCA analogue inputs are joined by one pair of balanced XLR inputs and a set of direct inputs that connect straight to the power amplifier. The cor integrated does not feature any digital inputs and is unashamedly an analogue amplifier for the purist.
All the components were specified without compromise after extensive listening tests, including the black PCBs and the volume control, which, together with the tone and balance faders, are motorised using the finest technology from professional mixing consoles, and are remote controllable. Um technologisch im High-End Bereich wie auch im professionellen Studioberiech an der Spitze zu bleiben, hat PMC eine sehr aufwendige Grundlagenforschung in Kooperation mit dem englischen NPL (National Physical Laboratory) aufgenommen. Das Resultat ist das fortschrittliche Laser-Messverfahren RAOS (Rapid Acousto-Optic Scanning) welches vollkommen neue "Einblicke" in die Schallausbreitung von Treibern und Gehäusen zulässt. Der erste Lautsprecher der von dieser Entwicklung in vollem Umfang profitiert ist die neue PMC FACT.12 Signature ein High-End Schallwandler von höchstem Kaliber was Präzision und Natürlichkeit betrifft. Ausser dem exzellenten Hochtöner wurde bei der PMC Fact .12 Signature restlos alles neu und kompromisslos entwickelt. Die 111 cm hohen und 16.8 cm schlanken Säulen beherbergen eine äusserst effiziente ATL Transmissionline welche von 2 neuen ultraschnellen Bassdrivern angetrieben werden und sauberen Tiefbass bis 26 Hertz liefern. Dank den Lasermessungen mit dem NPL sowie umfangreichen Versuchen mit Accelerometern und computergestüzten Berechnungen liefert eine Fact 12 Dynamik und Bass-Power wie ein viel grösserer Lautsprecher, ist aber gleichzeitig homogen und resonanzarm wie ein kleinerer Monitor. Ebenfalls neu entwickelt und perfekt angepasst wurde der neue 50mm PMC Dome Mitteltöner welcher von 400 Hz bis 4kHz ultralinear und verzerrungsarm arbeitet; ein Driver von höchstem Kaliber. Der gesamte Vokal- und Präsenzbereich wird durch dieses durchdachte Chassis sehr subtil, blitzschnell und enorm räumlich wiedergegeben. Grösste Sorgfalt wurde auch bei der Weiche sowie bei allen kleinen Details wie z.B. Kabel und Anschlüsse beherzigt. Auf dem Anschlusspanel kann man via 2 Schaltern den Hochton und den Bassbereich in 2dB Schritten der Raumakustik und dem persönlichen Geschmack anpassen.
