Die AW 800 M ist Electrocompaniet's brandneues, von Grund auf neu entwickeltes Flaggschiff unter den Endstufen. Sie löst die legendäre AW 600 NEMO als leistungsstärkste Monoblock-Endstufe ab. Der Verstärker präsentiert sich in einem aktualisierten, aber dennoch unverwechselbaren und unverkennbaren Electrocompaniet-Design, das perfekt zu allen aktuellen und älteren Electrocompaniet-Produkten passt.
Bei allen Änderungen und Verbesserungen, die an der AW 800 M vorgenommen wurden, hat sich eines nicht geändert: die einzigartige Designphilosophie und Klangsignatur von Electrocompaniet. Der AW 800 M umfasst die direkt gekoppelte Electrocompaniet-Topologie mit hoher offener Schleife und hoher Bandbreite, die durch Verstärkerstufen mit hoher Anstiegsgeschwindigkeit und sehr hoher Bandbreite weiter verbessert wurde. Darüber hinaus wurde eine völlig neue Ausgangsstufe entwickelt, die die Eingangs- und Treiberstufen stark von der Last abschirmt und den Ausgang extrem steif und unbeeinflusst von der angeschlossenen Last macht. Dies hat den zusätzlichen Vorteil, dass das ohnehin schon sanft arbeitende Rückkopplungssystem deutlich entlastet wird und dadurch verschwindend geringe Verzerrungswerte erzielt werden. Die Ausgangsstufe verfügt über insgesamt 32 bipolare Hochstrom-Ausgangstransistoren mit hoher Bandbreite, die unbelastet sehr hohe Ströme an die Last abgeben können.
Zur Speisung der Ausgangsstufe wurde das Netzteil stark überarbeitet und verfügt nun über eine Netzfilterung von insgesamt 210000 uF. Der Netzstromeingang wird vor den aufgerüsteten Doppel-Ringkerntransformatoren, die magnetisch und elektrostatisch abgeschirmt sind, gleichstrom- und hochfrequenzgefiltert, um das Eindringen von Störungen zu verhindern. Die interne Erdungsreferenz wurde weit überdimensioniert und völlig frei von Gleichricht- und Ausgangsströmen gehalten. Das Ergebnis ist ein sehr sauberes, rauschfreies Ausgangssignal, das unabhängig von der Ausgangsleistung eine sehr stabile Klangbühne mit dem schwärzesten Hintergrund bietet, der bei jeder Lautstärke möglich ist.

The new Electrocompaniet ECP 2 Phono Preamplifier is designed according to guidelines seen in the phono preamplifier from Dynamic Precision. It incorporates state-of-the-art instrumentation operational amplifiers and like other Electrocompaniet products, it uses the highest quality of discrete components through the whole signal path, all DC coupled of course.
The ECP 2 accommodates any imaginable pick-up and cable combination, thanks to it’s highly configurable input stage. User can select best suiting capacitive and resistive load configuration regarding to the pick-up cartridge used as source, no matter whether it is of an MM or MC type. Overall gain is also adjustable in 5 dB steps to accommodate different output levels from different pick-ups. The ECP 2 follows strictly the standard RIAA playback equalization curve, having also steep low frequency roll-off to filter out unwanted signals originating for example from playing back warped records.
